Personalised Caravan Customisation, from Vision to Creation

Step 1: The Basics of Your Custom-Fitted Caravan 

Your journey begins with a spark of inspiration – perhaps through conversations within your caravanning community or you came across a post on your socials. It’s where your imagination takes flight, and Wonderland is here to turn those visions into reality.  

Choosing the right caravan from so many options can be overwhelming, but don’t worry. It’s simpler than it seems. Just focus on what’s essential to you – what you can’t compromise on when picking the perfect caravan. 

• Assess your vehicle’s tow capacity 
• Evaluate what’s important to you – storage, space, seating or everything 
• Duration of your trips – a weekend getaway, month-long adventures or full-time caravanning 
• Style of caravanning – whether it’s caravan parks or off-grid adventures 
• Gauge your off-grid aspirations – how much independence do you desire? 
• Determine your water capacity needs to ensure self-sufficiency on the road. 
• Layout that you need – couple or family with bunks 
• Length of the caravan you’re after 

Once you know what you need, our experienced consultants are here to help and tailor your caravan to your requirements; and if you’re new with caravanning, they will advise on essential components such as electrical system, water capacity and suspension options. 

Step 2: Personalise your caravan, Upgrades, and extra custom features 

During our Plans and Specs Appointment, you will have the option to determine the following: 

• Bed configuration 
• More storage options 
• Type of Upholstery 
• Benchtop Finish (i.e Wood, stone, marble, concrete and more) 
• Internal Colors for Splashbacks, Doors & Cupboards 
• External Cladding Color 
• Pull Out Trays and Outdoor Kitchen configuration 
• Appliance provisions 
• Bike racks, and more. 

If you have something specific in mind, our production team will explore alternative options to accommodate your needs if there are limitations. 

If you can imagine it, then perhaps it’s possible, but we will tell you if it is feasible or practical or how we can make it work. For example, we could add a pull-out bin, but we may have to remove a drawer or two. 

Step 3: Designing Your Tailored Caravan 

This is where the magic happens in crafting custom caravans. When you have everything finalised, we will design your caravan.  

Our in-house design team will get to work, prepare floor plans and elevations which will then be communicated with you by the sales team for your approval. This process of customer feedback on caravan design can go back and forth as needed, but don’t worry. It only means your dream caravan is getting close to how you want it. 

Step 4: Building Your One-of-a-Kind Caravan 

Once you’re happy with everything in the design, we can start ordering components from suppliers and begin the actual build. Wonderland’s caravan craftsmanship employs a unique jigsaw construction method and structural-grade plywood cut with precision. These interlocking panels maximise structural integrity and provide superior strength and durability.  

Your caravan can then withstand off-road adventures, ensuring you can explore Australia’s rugged beauty without compromising on luxury. Speaking of luxury, we will ensure impeccable and comfortable interiors reminiscent of a boutique hotel on wheels. From cozy sleeping areas to well-appointed kitchens and bathrooms, every detail is carefully applied. 

How would you know how your dream is emerging? We will provide you with weekly updates and photos throughout the build, starting from when the chassis arrives in the production line. 

Step 5: Your Caravan Handover 

Your excitement builds as D-Day approaches. Wonderland will advise you around two weeks before the handover date so you can prepare for it (e.g., insurance, registration). When the van is ready and the day arrives, we will present your very own customised caravan.  

We will show you how to use everything in it, then of course we’ll take photos so you can keep souvenirs of this day. You can check if everything you wanted is in the caravan using a tally sheet of what you ordered. We will also provide you with an owner’s manual. 

Caravan After Care 

You can travel with peace of mind because every Wonderland caravan comes with a 3-year factory-backed warranty (you will get a copy of the warranty statement). Plus, you will be entitled to premium aftersales service as part of our caravaning family. Congratulations!
