10. Discovery Parks – Alice Springs, Ross, NT

The park had a large swimming pool, playgrounds, food trucks and plenty of BBQ areas making it perfect for both kids and adults. It’s also a gateway to some incredible adventures. From exploring the breathtaking MacDonnell Ranges to visiting wildlife parks and galleries filled with Aboriginal art, Alice Springs has so much to offer for families who want to experience the beauty of the outback.

The best attraction for adults at the Discovery Parks was definitely the Alice Springs Brewery, just a short walk across the road. It was a great spot to unwind after a busy day of exploring. One piece of advice for anyone heading into town is to get there early in the morning if you need something as the friendly locals are out and about later in the day. We felt very safe while staying in Alice Springs, but it’s also good to keep in mind that shopping trolleys won’t go much more than 50 meters before the wheels lock up, which is something we found out the hard way as we had to carry our massive shopping stock up for a few blocks .

We also visited the Alice Springs Reptile Park and it was fantastic. The park offers an amazing display of reptiles and other animals making it a fun stop for all ages. It was a great way to learn about the local wildlife and get up close to creatures like lizards, snakes, and even our first giant crocodile.”
